I’m not sure how they are coming in not being paid. I can tell you that every pilot I know would be sick tomorrow if today we stopped getting paid.

NPR had a food processing inspector on this morning. I wouldn’t recommend eating any processed meats for the time being. However, he said they’ve had staffing issues for the entirety of the Trump administration, so I guess you shouldn’t really ever eat processed meat.

That, or this was the plan along. The president is being investigated by now unpaid federal agents afterall. It’s a win-win for him. It’s not like there’s anything he could possibly do to upset his base.

Maybe Mexico will blink and build it’s own wall.

Professionalism. I’m not implying that pilots aren’t professionals, just that the ATC folks understand how vital their job is. But there is a limit to how much people can take.

Trump has shined a mirror on America, and what we’re seeing is  not pretty. Thankfully, it seems like we will survive it in the end (and hopefully that’s sooner rather than later).

Wasn’t a national emergency back when people were coming across at many times the normal rate. Won’t hold up, he’s holding a pair of twos and he’ll do nothing of substance the rest of this term.

I meant absolutely no insult. Honestly, I don’t know why anybody would want to be ATC. I can imagine how some might thrive in that pressure environment, but not me.

From what I’m reading, it can be used under the letter of the law but not under the spirit of the law.

Agreed that over the next year and a half almost nothing will get done, due to the House & Senate just blocking everything the other side tries to do.

In the US, if you make CPC at a level 12 facility, you will make a minimum of about $125,000 per year. That minimum could be $150,000 at a high-cost-of-living area. Then you have all the overtime you could ever want, especially at level 12 facilities.  Not bad for a job that doesn’t require a bachelor’s degree.
